Walk in the rain raises cash for op
A little girl is one step closer to vital stem-cell treatment thanks to the many big steps taken by her family.
Despite the driving wind and rain the relatives of Jazmin Adamson and their friends walked from their home in Denmead to Cosham in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for the treatment.
The six-year-old was born with cerebral palsy which affects her ability to control the movement in her limbs.
But now her parents are just a few thousand pounds away from hitting the total of 12,000 needed to send her to Germany for surgery.
Her proud mum, 28-year-old Kelly, from Birch Close, Cowplain, said: 'We woke up and saw the rain on Saturday morning and thought "Oh no, no-one is going to turn up"
'But we got to the Forest of Bere pub and there were loads of people there to support us. We think we have raised about 2,000 from the walk which takes the total to about 8,500.'
