Witness appeal after two Portchester homes burgled in one day

TWO homes in Portchester were burgled in the same day.

The first theft happened between 11am and 11pm on Sunday where someone gained entry to a home in Anson Grove.

Jewellery and a HP gold laptop with a butterfly design were stolen.

Hampshire Constabulary’s investigating officer, PC Samantha Gee, said: ‘Were you in the area on Sunday and did you see anyone acting suspiciously? Do you have any information about the stolen property?’

Police are also appealing for information from people who were near The Close in Portchester on Sunday between 5.45pm and 7.15pm. Burglars gained entry to a terraced home in the quiet cul-de-sac while the residents were out. A number of electrical items were stolen including a Compaq laptop, a Kindle, a silver MP3 player and a Nikon camera.

Police staff investigator Jane Dye said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed one or two people acting suspiciously in the area or anyone offered these items.’

Any witnesses or anyone with information should call the Priority Crime Team at Gosport police station on 101.

You can also give information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
