Worker killed by electric shock

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man was electrocuted while working at a salad factory in Chichester.

Bradley Watts, 21, from Manningtree, Essex, is believed to have touched a live electrical wire while working at Natures Way Foods site in Runcton.

The incident happened at about 1.50pm on Thursday, June 2, while Mr Watts was working in the roof space of the factory.

The Health and Safety Executive has opened an investigation into Mr Watts’s death.

His family said they were devastated and described Mr Watts as ‘a wonderful person’.

A spokesman for Natures Way Foods said: ‘Very regrettably a fatal industrial incident occurred at our Runcton site.

‘This involved a sub-contractor who was working within the roof space on our premises.

‘Our thoughts are very much with his family at this very difficult time.’

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
