The Charles Dickens Museum in London will close for a £2m revamp during the 200th anniversary year of his birth.

The Portsmouth-born author’s former home at 48 Doughty Street, Camden, will shut from April 10 to December. Museum manager Shannon Hermes said the money was available for a limited time and they had to seize the chance.
