MORE than 30 firefighters tackled a blaze at an industrial unit in Bedhampton last night.

Crews were called to Larchwood Avenue, near the Asda store in Bedhampton, at around 6.43pm.

They found a single-storey unit at the industrial site there had caught fire.

Firefighters from Cosham, Havant, St Mary’s, Southsea, Portchester, Eastleigh and Fareham used 12 sets of breathing apparatus, three jets and a hose reel to put the fire out.

Two lorries inside the unit were severely damaged by the fire, while another two were badly damaged by smoke. ]

An investigation into the cause of the blaze continues.

Police are standing guard outside the unit today.
