A DAY of live music, stalls and games has raised £1,200 for worthy causes.

The money was raised at the Love Southsea Show, held on Castle Field, Southsea, last month.

It has been split between Help for Heroes and the Falklands Veterans Foundation.

The event saw staff from The Pyramids Centre, Blue Reef Aquarium and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard take part in games to raise cash for the charities.

A rock band from Mayfield Secondary School and 1940’s brass act The Three Belles also performed.

Louise Whitmore, of the Love Southsea events team, which organised the event, said: ‘It was such an amazing day and we’re pleased with the money raised.’
