FIREFIGHTERS were called out to an accident after a car collided with a telephone cable box.

A BMW hit the box in Kiln Road, Fareham, and there were fears the driver had become trapped in the vehicle, and that there was a small fire.

One crew from Fareham fire station was called shortly before 8.45pm last night.

When they got there they found the driver was able to get out of the car, and there was no blaze, however firefighters stayed for 45 minutes to check everything was safe.
