OLDER members of the community are being invited to join a Southsea club to meet new people.

The Brendoncare friendship club meets every Monday afternoon at the Southsea Community Centre, in St Paul’s Square, Kings Street, from 2pm to 4pm.

The group is run by volunteers, who create opportunities for members to take part in activities, have a chat and meet new and old friends.

Club manager Karen Seale said: ‘Many of our members are now in their 80s and 90s, so it’s not an overly lively club, but we do like to have a bit of fun.

‘Previously we’ve held an Olympic-themed afternoon with games and challenges. Everyone got stuck in and had a lot of fun. We’re a friendly bunch and new members are always welcome.’

Brendoncare is a Winchester-based charity.
