A TENNIS club opened its courts to the public after a resurfacing.

Alverstoke Lawn Tennis Squash and Badminton Club in Green Lane, in Gosport saw visitors enjoy a game at its opening day.

They were invited to try out the different sports at the club with taster sessions.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage swapped the green benches for the green court as she gave them a go too.

She said: ‘We’re fortunate to have some of the best facilities in Hampshire right on our doorstep.

‘The fundraising effort to resurface the courts proves that with members who are passionate and dedicated, a small group of individuals can make a big difference, providing great facilities for everyone to enjoy.’

The club has a number of facilities, with seven astro tennis courts, two courts for racketball and squash, and an indoor badminton hall.
