A CARAVAN has been completely destroyed by a fire at the White Horse Caravan Park, in Selsey, part of Bunn Leisure.

The blaze could be seen for miles around and firefighters were alerted yesterday, at 9.15am.

The fire was so fierce it also damaged its neighbouring caravan, described by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service as ‘ten-per-cent damaged by fire.’

Firefighters rescued one man and he was taken to hospital – his condition is currently unknown.

Three other people were given oxygen.

Two gas cylinders had to be removed from the caravan to a place of safety.

Three fire engines rushed to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire just before 11am.

There were still a number of firefighters and police on site at 11.30am as the cause of the fire was investigated.
