A MAN has died after accidentally driving his mobility scooter through a glass window.

He left the medical centre in Osborne Road, Fareham, and drove through glass double doors before falling 12ft through the glass wall of the walkway.

The 82-year-old Fareham man was pronounced dead at the scene and police have cordoned off the area while they conduct enquiries.

The accident took place at 2.50pm today.

An onlooker said: ‘There was a crowd of people and they were saying he just came straight through the window.’

Detective Sergeant Fiona Wright from Fareham CID said: ‘The man had exited the building through the double doors. His mobility scooter then went through the glass wall of the walkway. Sadly, he fell to the ground and was pronounced dead at the scene.
