A man was rushed to hospital in an ‘extremely serious’ condition after a medical incident at a Sussex festival.

The man, in his 20s, was taken ill near one of the gates at the Wild Life Festival last night.

He suffered a cardiac arrest and was treated at the scene by the on site medical team.

South East Coast Ambulance Service said a critical care paramedic was also sent to help treat the man.

“The patient was taken to the Royal Sussex County hospital in Brighton in an extremely serious condition,” a SECAmb spokesman said.

Sussex Police also attended the incident at the festival at Shoreham.
