THE death of a man found in a busy Portsmouth street is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

Family of the man, in his 40s and from the local area, are being notified of the death.

He was found on the pavement shortly before 7am in Craswell Street, Portsmouth, on Saturday.

Residents have spoken of their shock at the discovery.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘The death is not being treated as suspicious.

‘The man’s next-of-kin are being notified.

‘He is a local man in his late forties.

‘A file is being prepared on behalf of the coroner.’
