A man who stole children's clothing has been told to stay in under a curfew.

David Heard took 68 worth of clothing from Matalan in Station Street, Landport, on December 12.

Heard, of Cumberland Street, Portsea, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court.

The 36-year-old will have to wear an electronic tag and stay in his flat every day between 7pm and 7am for four weeks.

No order for costs or compensation was made.
