SCORES of people went to view £3m plans that will revamp Portsmouth’s oldest house.

An open day was held on Monday at Wymering Manor so the Wymering Manor Trust could gauge public opinion about its overhaul plans.

Members of the public were given the chance to have their say on how the manor, reportedly the most haunted in the area, could be used in future.

Wymering Manor trustee Andy Mason said: ‘We had a fantastic day – about 150 people came along to see the plans. We had some good feedback.’

The trust will put a bid into the Heritage Lottery Fund, of which it will need to raise at least half.

Mr Mason said the trust is busy organising fundraisers, including a talk from trustee Celia Clark on June 19 and a tea party on July 11.
