GOSPORT’S mayoress raised more than £200 for charity with a coffee morning and street collection.

Mayoress Julia Carter was raising money for the St John Ambulance volunteers.

The event was held at the Gosport Discovery Centre on April 21.

Another £117 was raised in a street collection and £12 was raised by selling pens.

Mrs Carter said: ‘Many thanks to all who supported the event.’
