THE author of a book which was adapted into a popular movie will be in Portsmouth this weekend.

Deborah Moggach, whose novel These Foolish Things was recently adapted into the film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel starring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy, will be talking about her book at the Vintage Readers Day on Saturday.

The event will be running from 10.30am until 5pm, at Portsmouth Central Library.

There will be talks about the industry and sessions with authors.

Dom Kippin, literature development officer at the council, said: ‘Vintage Day is a great opportunity to meet authors, and find out more about the future of publishing.

‘There’s a whole host of current authors giving talks about their books, including the Bafta-nominated Deborah Moggach, so it’s a must for anyone who loved the recent film and book behind it.’
