LANDLORD Spencer Rogers enjoyed life on foreign shores before he took over The Shepherds Crook.
He was the man in charge of Camel Bar, in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, for two-and-a-half years.
‘It’s a completely different way of life over there,’ Mr Rogers said.
‘It’s so much more relaxed, and most of the people that came to the bar were holidaymakers.’
Mr Rogers returned to the UK last year because tourism in Egypt had dropped.
He also wanted to be closer to his mum Penny Rogers, 67, after she dislocated her hip.
‘I’m glad I’m back,’ Mr Rogers said.
‘I intend to be at this pub for the long term.’
