BALLOONS will fill the skies as hundreds of people gather to mark the loss of loved ones.
This year Forton Fest, held at Forton Recreation Ground in Gosport, will host a huge balloon release on Saturday in memory of people who have died.
Organiser Tammy Kent, who is due to bow out after the festival this year, wants people to remember young children who have died. It will happen at 4pm and everyone is invited along. The invite comes as organisers are preparing for the 11th annual festival on Saturday.
Organisers have planned to have something for everyone at the event.
Fun-seekers can enjoy a raffle, a children’s TV and film character show, wildlife show and local craft stalls.
As reported, the festival was set up in 2003 by residents of Beryton Road to tackle the poor reputation of the area.
It has since evolved into a major event on the calendar for local people. Tammy, 39, the chairwoman of Forton Fest since it started, is due to leave and the festival needs more supporters.
