A BUILDERS merchant in has donated building materials to a men’s community organisation in Havant.

The Havant Men’s Shed Association received the materials from the Chichester branch of Covers Timber and Builders Merchants.

The donation from Covers, which also has a branch in Portsmouth, includes a variety of timber and metal materials that will be used by the association to complete future requests for help.

The Havant Men’s Shed Association undertakes community projects to help individuals and charities that require support with practical tasks such as gardening and DIY projects.

Steve Sadler, chairman of Havant Men’s Shed Association, said: ‘We’re extremely grateful to Covers for its generous donation.

‘We receive regular requests from disabled or elderly people who are unable to complete various tasks themselves.

‘The provision of these materials will make it a lot easier for us to help them and complete projects more quickly.’
