The body of a missing Fareham woman was found in a river today.

Forty-two-year-old Katharine Blakey was last seen on Tuesday morning.

Police launched a search for her but early today a Hampshire Search and Rescue team spotted a body in a river near Fareham creek.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: ‘The body was taken to hospital where next-of-kin formally identified the woman as Katharine Lisa Blakey, aged 42, of Gordon Road in Fareham. The death is not being treated as suspicious. HM Coroner was informed.

Officers, along with the Hampshire Search and Rescue charity and a dog team, had focused their search for 42-year-old Katharine Blakey around the Peak Lane area of Fareham, on Thursday night. She was last seen at home in Gordon Road, Fareham, on Tuesday morning. Crews also searched Fareham town centre.
