WOMEN usually go potty over handbags and will pay almost any price to wear one on their arm.

So, imagine having the chance to snap up any of more than 1,000 handbags at just a few pounds each.

Now you can as a huge sale is taking place at the Meridian Centre, Havant, on March 19 in aid of Home Start Havant.

The charity has been inundated with all sorts of second-hand snazzy bags which they hope will net them at least £2,000.

That much-needed cash will go towards proving vital support, friendship and practical help for parents of young children living in Havant.

Co-ordinator Maggie Eveleigh, said: ‘A thousand pounds helps support one family in need for a year. That’s why we are so grateful for all the donations. We know that women love handbags – we all do here.

‘So we thought it would be an excellent way of raising some money. We’re all very excited about it and hope everything goes.’

The sale lasts from 10am to 4pm in the middle of the shopping centre, in West Street.
