ORGANISERS of the Isle of Wight Festival have announced a host of further acts which have been added to the line-up.

The Courteeners, Big Country, Mike and The Mechanics, and We Are Scientists will also be part of the festival’s 10th birthday celebrations.

The festival – the first major one of the summer season – takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, between June 10 and 12. It is already sold out.

Headliners already announced for the festival are Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and, closing the weekend, Kasabian.

Newly-reformed Pulp will also make their first UK festival appearance ahead of the Foo Fighters on the Saturday.

Under the Big Top on the Friday night is girl-group Wonderland and London girl Edei, while The Cult will be performing on the Saturday.

Various Cruelties and Springbok Nude Girls also take to the Big Top on Sunday.

Finally ABC will join Boy George for the opening Thursday night.
