West Sussex County Council is working closely with district and borough councils to create a new ‘families plan’ across the county.

The plan will outline how organisations can work together to support children, young people and families.

The council wants to ensure that young people, families and the employees’ voices are heard to help shape the ambitions of the plan.

Council cabinet member for children Peter Evans said: ‘We want to understand what our residents think should be a priority and where we should focus our resources.’

A draft plan will be presented in September, before undergoing a further consultation.
