FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze near Hilsea railway station this morning.
Two crews from Cosham fire station went to Airport Service Road, Hilsea, just after 6am, to a fire in a bridge archway.
Watch manager Tim Pringle said: ‘We were called at 6.02am near to the railway line in the lock ups, where one was on fire.
‘The framework was on fire and there was also one gas cylinder inside, which did not go off.
‘The lock up was severely damaged and the cause of the fire is doubtful.’
Crews tackled the flames and made the scene safe, being leaving just after 7.30am.
