A 45-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

A silver Yamaha 1700 was being ridden down Albert Road, Southsea, when it collided with a silver Volkswagen Golf, at 6.30pm yesterday.

The motorcyclist was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, and the extent of his injuries is unknown.

One crew from Southsea fire station was called to clear fuel spillage and to make the area safe.

Police were there to divert traffic around the incident.
