A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital following an accident with a car on the A32.

The 41-year-old suffered a broken leg after the incident in Fareham Road, with the junction of Wych Lane, Gosport, shortly before 9am today.

Police said a Vauxhall Safira was in collision with a Triumph Bonneville 865 on the A32.

The motorcyclist was freed and flown to Southampton General Hospital, by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The road was closed following the crash, and was reopened at 11.15am.
