Motorcyclist alerts fire crews on road diesel spillage

People told not to be alarmed by armed police officers on patrol

A STREET in Fareham was partially closed after diesel spilled on the road.

About 100 litres of fuel was spilled on Titchfield Hill, near Ranvilles Lane.

One crew from Fareham fire station was called at 4pm.

Firefighters were called after a motorbike almost skidded over the diesel – it is not known where the fuel came from.

Part of the road was closed off, until the Highways Agency cleared it up.

The road was reopened at 5.30pm.
