A MAN in his 40s was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital following a serious accident on the A27.

Both east and westbound carriageways between Emsworth and Chichester remain shut, following the incident, which happened just before 6.30pm.

A spokeswoman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: ‘We took one person, a man in his 40s, to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, with leg and arm injuries and possible head injuries.

‘Two ambulances attended the scene.’

The crash caused major delays to motorists.
