A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash yesterday has been named as Julie Corben.

The 55-year-old, from Hook Lane, Warsash, died at the scene of the incident after her black Harley Davidson was involved in a crash with a blue Fiat Doblo.

Julie would have been fairly distinctive as she was wearing a black jacket and black crash helmet and riding a black Harley Davidson.

Sergeant Adrienne Jerram

Police closed the junction of The Avenue and Catisfield Road for most of Monday afternoon following the incident at around 1pm.

Both vehicles were conducting manoeuvres at the set of traffic lights at the junction with Catisfield Road opposite the Oast and Squire pub.

The driver of the Fiat, a 61-year-old woman from Gosport, was shaken but otherwise uninjured.

Sergeant Adrienne Jerram said: ‘Sadly the motorcyclist, Julie Corben, died as a result of the collision.

‘We’ve been able to speak to the Fiat driver and would like to know more about the motorcycle prior to the incident.

‘Julie would have been fairly distinctive as she was wearing a black jacket and black crash helmet and riding a black Harley Davidson.’

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Jerram at the Serious Collision Investigation unit on 101, quoting Operation Proof.
