A YEAR on from a 20mph speed clampdown and new figures show drivers are slowing down.

A report prepared for West Sussex County Council by a consulting company concluded there was an ‘observed reduction in speeds’ at 89 per cent of the sites they surveyed in Chichester.

Earlier this year road safety charity Brake reported a 22 per cent dip in casualties in 20mph areas in Portsmouth.
