MOTORISTS faced delays on the M27 after four vehicles collided with each other.

The rush-hour incident happened on the eastbound carriageway, between junction 11 for Fareham and 12 for Hilsea at about 5pm yesterday.

The outer lane was closed while the vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder.

A Toyota Corolla, a silver Peugeot 206, a white Ford Transit van and a white Fiat Doblo van, all collided.

One person was treated for minor injuries.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We were initially called to a report of a two-vehicle collision in lane three – there were four vehicles.

‘The outer lane was closed briefly to remove the vehicles.’

The lane was removed just before 7pm.

A witness appeal has been issued by the police for information on the incident. People can call 101, 0845 045 45 45, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
