THE A3M has now reopened following an accident.

At midday a car came off the southbound carriageway of the motorway at Buriton and ended up in a ditch.

It meant there were tailbacks stretching back to the A272 Winchester Road, at Petersfield.

The road was reopened at 3pm once the vehicle had been recovered. Two people were treated by paramedics and taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
