A MENTAL health charity has designed a new football project for young men struggling to find employment.

Aimed at people aged 16 to 25 living in or around the Portsmouth area, the pilot programme organised by Feel Good UK offered four free hour-long training and classroom sessions with coaches from the Pompey Sports and Education Foundation.

Held at the Goals Soccer Centre, in Tangier Road, Copnor, the project teaches participants to apply drug-free techniques to improve motivation and reduce stress.

Charity CEO Steve Surridge said: ‘The sessions were a huge success; we will definitely be setting up more in the future and moving the project forward.’
