FAREHAM MP Suella Fernandes will join thousands of others taking part in this year’s Great South Run.

The 35-year-old plans to run in the October 25 race in aid of Titchfield-based charity The Haven.

The Tory MP, pictured, said: ‘My training is going okay. I’ve been getting out there a few times a week and should survive the race.’

Miss Fernandes said The Haven was a worthwhile charity which needed support.

She said: ‘It provides personalised support and therapy, entirely free of charge, to breast cancer patients.

‘Reliant entirely on donations, it is due to open a new building in Titchfield village and your support will make all the difference to its refurbishment and running costs.

‘Sadly the Wessex region has one of the highest rates of incidence of breast cancer in the UK, so this facility will help so many sufferers.’
