PORTSMOUTH South MP Mike Hancock is encouraging people to take part in this year’s Earth Hour on March 31.

The annual event, established by the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF), calls on people across the planet to turn off their lights for 60 minutes at 8.30pm.

Mr Hancock said: ‘I encourage people in Portsmouth to sign up and do something special during Earth Hour. Everyone can show they care for the environment.’
