This was the scene after a mother and her 10-year-old daughter escaped from their overturned car.

The Nissan Micra hit the central reservation of Eastern Way, Fareham, and the car landed on its roof.

A police spokesman said both the occupants, a mother and her 10-year-old daughter, walked away from the collision with minor injuries after managing to free themselves from the wreckage. They were taken to QA Hospital as a precaution.

The accident happened just after 6pm on Saturday, The westbound carriageway reopened at 7.20pm.
