PEOPLE are being encouraged to get knitting and learn some new skills by joining a needlework group in Gosport.

The group meets at Bridgemary Library every month to practise their craft, encouraging those who wish to start something new or carry on with a project to take part.

It offers an opportunity to exchange tips, learn new techniques and make new friends along the way.

Heather Underwood, a volunteer at the library, said: ‘It’s a good group. People come along to learn something new and interact socially, allowing them to get out of the house.

‘No matter what age, gender or how good you are at your needlework – there’s a place for everyone.’

The next meeting is on Monday, February 27 at 10am, running until midday. Entry is free.
