DADS and their kids will have their own free club at Gosport’s Submarine Museum.

The new Dads’ Club will include working with unusual museum objects, getting creative with crafts and a day out to the New Forest to learn how to survive in the wild.

Jackie Edelman, education manager at the museum said: ‘This is a great project for dads to spend time with their children. They get to do different fun activities together.’

The club will run fortnightly on Saturday mornings from April 28 at 10am, through to the end of June.

Dads’ Club is part of the Saving HMS Alliance conservation project which has been funded with part of the £3.4m Heritage Lottery Fund awarded last May. The cash was given as part of a £6.5m restoration project to save the Second World War submarine.

Extra funding for activities has been provided by Hampshire Learning.

This project aims to involve the wider community in experiencing the historic submarine through a range of fun and engaging events.

Although the club is free places are limited and must be booked by calling (023) 9251 0354, or by emailing daniel.ball@submarine-museum.co.uk
