A NEW home for the St John Ambulance has officially been opened in Gosport.

The new St John Ambulance Regent’s Park Headquarters, in Barwell Lane, Gosport, was opened earlier this month.

The new base between Fareham and Gosport will help the national charity to inform and educate people about the importance of first aid.

Michelle Dobson, Hampshire fundraiser for St John Ambulance, said: ‘Local headquarters such as this one are vital to us.

‘They mean we can teach communities first aid and this can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

‘Our own volunteers who provide first aid at local events and our youth members will also use the facility for training, as well as members of the general public who need to know first aid for work or just in case an accident happens at home.’
