A BRAND new music festival is coming to the heart of Portsmouth at the end of summer.

The Charmed Life Festival will take over Victoria Park on Saturday, September 23, where the best tribute acts will mix it up alongside top local bands on the main stage.

And 20 acoustic acts will feature on the second stage, sponsored by the Shack Bar in Albert Road, Southsea

Organiser Gareth Wright said: ‘Tickets went on sale last Friday and they’re already going well, which is nice to see as we’re a new event and it is so far away at the moment.

‘There’s been lots of interest from people, which is great.

‘All the acts for the main stage are booked up now and we’ve got seven acts for the acoustic stage so far, with loads more to come.

‘We’ve also been granted our licence, so we’ve got the go-ahead from the council, which is a massive relief.’

Acts include The Total Stone Roses, Kingz Of Leon, Marmalade Moonshine, Four Folds Law and Simon Kent.

There will also be bars, a Pimms and real ale tent, children’s fun fair, chill-out zone with deckchair area, face and body painters, and food stalls as well as entertainers, magicians and street performers.

The last major event to take place in the park was the first Mutiny festival three years ago.

Attendance will be capped at 4,999 people.

Early-bird tickets for the first 500 are already on sale at £15 for adults, £7.50 to children.
