A TEMPORARY skatepark will be installed in Horndean this summer.

Horndean Parish Council will be building the skatepark at Five Heads Recreation Ground, in Five Heads Road, Horndean.

It comes after a £1,000 funding boost from East Hampshire District Council, which agreed to hand over a grant at a community forum meeting which took place at Horndean Technology College.

The skatepark, costing a total of £2,480, will be up and running from August 1 to August 31.

Plans are already in the pipeline, with local youngsters helping to draw up designs for it.

Tracy Predeth, parish clerk, said: ‘The council has a working party of members that are working with pupils from Horndean Technology College, looking at the design of a permanent skatepark at Five Heads Road.’
