ST JOHN Ambulance has opened a new base in Gosport.

The ambulance charity’s life-saving volunteers will now work out of its new Regent’s Park headquarters in Barwell Lane.

Volunteers who provide first aid at events in the area will use the new base for training.

St John Ambulance will also use the headquarters as a training site for members of the public.

Michelle Dobson, the charity’s Hampshire fundraiser, said: ‘Local headquarters such as this are vital to us.

‘They mean we can teach communities first aid.

‘This can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

‘Volunteers who provide first aid at local events and our youth members will use the facility for training, as well as members of the general public who need to know first aid for work or just in case an accident happens at home.’
