Not long left to make bid for cash ahead of Red Nose Day

IT’S less than a week to go until Red Nose Day.

So time is running out to bid for cash from our monster £50,000 Comic Relief giveaway.

It gives the chance for community groups across the area to get some cash to help those most in need.

The deadline for entries is March 16, the day after the big fundraising day.

Grants of between £500 and £1,000 are available.

The charity’s slogan this year is ‘Do something funny for money’ so tell us what you are up to.

There are a variety of different events going on across the area.

Staff at Sainsbury’s in Farlington have roped in a dinosaur from the BBC series Walking with Dinosaurs to help them do a Harlem Shake dance.

It will take place at the store next Tuesday.

Customers are being invited to come to the store and donate cash to have their picture taken with the dinosaur – who will be decked out in red – from 3.30pm.

At 4pm staff and customers will take part in a mass Harlem Shake to raise money for Comic Relief.

To apply for a grant please visit at hantscf.org.uk/grants/available-grants/red-nose-day-community-cash.aspx.

We want to know what you are doing to raise money for Comic Relief.

Please send an email to elise.brewerton@thenews.co.uk to tell us all about your plans.
