EMERGENCY services were called to a two-car collision near to the Marriott junction at North Harbour in Portsmouth today.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended after a Ford car and a Nissan Micra collided almost head on shortly before 9am.

One witness said that it appeared one of the drivers had come off the M27 and driven up the wrong side of Southampton Road before the crash.

The incident was cleared within an hour and highways officials were called to clear oil from the road.

It is not yet known whether anyone was injured.
