A GROUP of prison governors will cycle more than 1,000 miles for charity.

Claudia Sturt, Neil Howard, Paul Millett and James Shanley will be cycling across France and Spain in June to raise money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, formerly the Army Benevolent Fund.

Three of the cyclists were at Asda, on Newgate Lane, Fareham, raising cash ahead of their trip.

Cadets from the Princess of Wales Royal regiment also helped by bag packing and the group raised £1,148.

Asda also offered support for their trip and donated the use of a minibus.

The governors hope to raise a total of £10,000. They will return to Asda on May 17.
