MORE than 700 train enthusiasts came together and had some fun at an annual exhibition.

The Fareham Rail Exhibition, organised by Fareham and District Model Railway Club, was held at 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Portsmouth, at the weekend.

Visitors got to see model railways of various sizes and there were trade stands selling model kits and a wide range of equipment.

A DVD about The Mid-Hants Railway, a heritage steam railway operating in Hampshire, between Alresford and Alton, was also shown.

In other years the event has been held at Wickham Community Centre. It moved to bigger premises because it’s proved so popular.

Co-organiser Lyndon Ford said: ‘There was a good turnout, and there was excellent feedback from people who have attended.

‘The exhibitors and traders were pleased they came.’
