DEDICATED Scouts raised around £800 for charity in a sponsored cycle.

They completed a 12-hour cycle on exercise bikes, covering 516 miles to raise the cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Staff from the cancer charity came down to support the young Scouts.

The Scouts were doing the ride to complete the community section of their Army proficiency syllabus and work towards the Commandant Medal.

The cadets meet at Browndown on Monday at 7.30pm to 9.30pm and on Thursday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
