AN ARMED forces charity is to host a one-man play to boost its funds.

The Gosport and Fareham group of SSAFA is due to hold the fundraising night at Crossley Community Centre, off Grange Lane, Rowner, in Gosport, on September 26, at 7.30pm.

Cliff Mullins will perform Old Herbaceous, which is a one-man play adapted by Alfred Shaughnessy from the book by Reginald Arkell.

A bar and light refreshments will be on offer.

Funds raised from the night are to be put to use locally.

The charity has provided lifelong support for the armed forces and their families since 1885.

It offers practical support and assistance to servicemen and women, and veterans.
