PEOPLE will no longer have to separate coloured glass when they drop bottles and jars at recycling banks.

The new blue bins being introduced across Havant will allow all glass to be placed into one bottle bank, regardless of the colour.

Peter Vince, operational services manager the council, said they will be cleaner, easier and safer. He added: ‘We would ask residents to bear with us if the new bottle banks are full when visiting, this will only be short term whilst we balance the capacity across the borough.’

The glass recycling banks will be set up at Green Pond One Stop, Warblington; South Street car park, Emsworth; Bartons Green Recreation ground, West Leigh; Purbrook Chase Precinct, Crookhorn; Leigh Park Community Centre car park; The Ship Inn, Langstone Harbour; and Inn on the Beach, Hayling Island.
